Plastic trim

Ok, so this is an interior cabin project and the question is not very "boat like".

I've got ceiling panels that are fastened directly to the top on one side. On the other they meet with a small gap and need something to "hang" them with. Previous method was an aluminum "H" extrusion - and worked poorly (plus, it's pretty much gone by now).

All I need is a flat stock of plastic (any kind, really - PVC, polypropylene etc), about 1.5-2" wide, not too thick but strong enough to hold ceiling panels.

Sounds trivial, I know - but I've exhausted my Google search possibilities and all the usual suspect boat and hardware shopping sites with no results.

If anyone knows where a thin, hard plastic strip can be found - please help!
