Thanks for the replies. Turns out it's not blow-by, but a cooling water leak. There is a copper tube inserted in the cylinder head between the outside and the combustion chamber. The injectors are inserted in these tubes. The leak is at the top, not sure how bad it is as I have just purchased the boat, and it's laid up for the winter. I guess you need special tools to fix this problem so it seems the best approach will be to remove the cylinder head and take it to a diesel repair shop. May be able to put up with it for a season if its a trickle. Anyone else have this problem?
