I Its actually not as major as it appears. The guy that I bought the boat from works in the boatyard where the boat is stored. So he was very meticulous about fixing the things on this particular boat that are dirty and expensive. For example, he replaced the fuel tank, installed all new fuel lines and a new holding tank and plumbing system. The inside is in perfect shape because they lived aboard. The engine is so clean its almost comical.
The deck and hull just need varnish and paint. He just hated doing the brightwork. He also bought new masts for the boat so I will have a rigger step them for me.
I am pretty meticulous about things like keeping spread sheets on costs, materials, brands, etc. You may have seen my sail comparison that I published some time ago. I will post the spread sheet with materials and costs as I go along.
So maybe I am being overly ambitious but I am planning on launching sometime in September. I will keep you posted.
