Interior Woodwork restoration

The 34 I have found has a serious need for redoing all the interior timber work.

To put it bluntly it is filthy, everywhere the owner could touch he has touched and left a residue of some sort. What it is I have no idea.

The wood itself is in great condition and in parts he couldnt touch appears to be as good as the day it came out of the factory.

I will try soap and water first, but assuming it needs refinishing, how difficult is it. Does anyone know what the factory uses to finish the wood ( varnish, oil, etc)

The finish does appear to. Be slightly darker than the slightly yellow finish on some ( more mahogany). It is a 94 boat.

Thanks
