Replacing V-berth wall panels P36-2

1985 Pearson 36-2 V-berth panel (foam-backed vinyl on plywood) is rotted beyond hope. Stanchion leak is fixed but I can't figure out replacement. Believe panel was installed before berth completed as there is minimal room to replace. Bought new foam-backed vinyl and 1/4" plywood but can't even dry fit the plywood. Any experience, suggestions appreciated.
