W27

Been an owner of an '81 W27 for about a year and a half....it has taken me from Delaware down to Long Island, Bahamas and now on it's way back....the boat is SOLID...as mentioned above, leaky stanchions...nothing some scouting during the rain and 5200 couldnt solve....soft spots in the foredeck....Yanmar diesel is very reliable...engine compartment is a little tight when changing gear oil and tightening packing nuts...plenty of storage...most people think its at least a 30 due to the beaminess...and the cabin space is unbeatable for a 27....as long as you balance your stores....she will track very well (24hrs with tiller simply lashed making 7kts COG on sail from Lake Worth to St. Aug)...boat is over rigged, witch is not a bad thing in my opinion....larger running and standing rigging then most 27's....knock on wood, ive not had any of the rudder post issues....hope you find that place to keep her...without losing any of your anatomy...
