I'm in the same boat as you BentSailor (pun intended)

I am also a software engineer, trying to figure out how to make some money while cruising. While, as you stated, working sporadically and remotely is not to difficult, finding companies who want to employ such people is a bit different.

I have wondered off and on if it would be possible to get a group of remote, sporadic coders connected and working together, since we would all understand each others situation, and create a marketable product. Of course you would need to find something that your customers are not going to need support for, or the ability to contact you, so it would take just the right sort of project, with just the right sort of people involved....
