Thumbs up Made it home with Alberg 30 #457!

We made our trip home from Oriental, NC to Norfolk about 200nm. It was an eventful trip to say the least. We left on Friday and got home today. The boat performed flawlessly. We sailed thru the Pamlico in some heavy wind(20 gusting to 25-30) but she stood up well and we spent the night in Engelhard at Big Trout Marina. Owner there was great. Next day we continued up the Pamilco to Manteo. We stayed at Mateo Waterfront Marina. This was a great place, the marina staff was top notch as were the facilities, a hot shower was welcomed that night. A recommended stop for anyone near or around Manteo for sure. On Sunday we crossed the Ablemarle Sound and headed into the ICW via Coinjock route. We anchored at G153 at mile 56. What a great spot. On Monday we headed toward Coinjock, NC. Crossing the Currituck sound was very wet and windy. We spent the night on the South side of the Great Bridge bridge at the free dock. Today we brought her around to the Elizabeth River and out into the Chesapeake and headed for her new home in Norfolk.

All in all a great trip, learned alot about the boat. That A4 ran great, did not miss a beat...not once. Boat sailed well in heavy and light winds. And she was comfortable for both my wife and I. We had been staying on her since last Wednesday night.

I want to thank everyone for all the help leading up to and during our trip. I will post pictures tomorrow. I am tired! The last 2 hrs pounding into the Chesapeake through the Bridge Tunnel over to the marina wore me out!!!!!
