Yep - generally, I'd avoid Georgia and northern FL on the ICW - they will give you problems with your draft. When we headed south we did the ICW from Norfolk to Beaufort, jumped offshore to Charleston, jumped offshore to Ft. Pierce. I wish we had stopped by St. Augustine but it was night when we were passing it and I didn't feel like heaving to for 8-10 hours (I don't like entering an unknown inlet in the dark unless it's a major port i.e. regular dredging and accurate charts).
