Paul the hull I believe varies in thickness so it depends on where you want to mount it. I removed one on mine that made a 3" hole thru the hull, the glass where it went thru was about 1 inch thick! (about a foot & 1/2 fwd of the shoal keel & post side about 6 inches from center. The hull is solid glass, they don't make them like that anymore, too expensive to hand lay so much glass.
