Ohms Law and something worked on Seafever :)

On the same day

All this debate about amps and the accuracy of watt claims on bulbs and other items got me curious

But somehow i got a lucky break and one of the wiring items still in good shape on Seafever is the cabin lights of which there are two old style GE 1004 bulbs and the two modern fixtures above

I figure if you can go to home depot and still buy 10 or 20 watt bulbs there modern

It would have sucked if the wire there was bad because its covered in really nice wood strips held down with brass brads

BUT anyway the old school 1004 13 watt bulbs can in slightly low at .96 amps and the modern 20 watt bulbs came in at 1.65 right on the money for a pretty massive 5.2 amp draw

BUT at least it works and i can move on to soemthing else for now

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat
