Beta is also called a koda

The Beta is also called a koda engine.
Beta Marine US Ltd. Distributors for Kubota based marine

I do not remember about the Universal but we had one in our Catalina 30. I think it was a 25 hp and they were in the Catalina 36 at least around the 1981 models.
So I guess that is no info.
One of the reasons we installed a Beta is there are two other boats of our kind (Islander Freeports) with Beats installed that I know of and one is actively cruising and just put 80 hours straight on his Beta motor on a rough seas passage. He has had zero problems with it and has put a lot of hours on it.
There is an Islander at our doc with a beta who loves it and our dock mate friend Hinze has a larger Beta in his Gulf Star 42 and loves it.
We only have about 6 hours on ours so we cannot really say much but that it works fine so far
I do think it is a well thought out engine. Easy to do maint on.
