Bavaria are reasonable 'bang for the buck' and are good sailors. We had 6 adults and 2 kids on a 48 ft Bavaria without problems.
You need to keep at least 20% of your cash in reserve because an older boat will need constant yearly
repairs and upgrades.
My wife and I sail a 55 but she is lots of work and very expensive to fix...keep it in the 42-48 ft range.
