Friendships have always interested me, 'don't think I would ever own one, but their history is an interesting one. They were a throw away boat, lobster men used them for a single season and then built a new one over the winter. Average cost to build one in the late 1800s was about $500.00 or 12K in todays dollars... You could not even begin to build one for 12K now days I doubt.
