Our previous boat(Ericson 35-3) did not have the swim step but our Caliber 40lrc does and we love it. Much easier to get the dog in/out of the dinghy. Also nicer to get people in/out of the dinghy.

We use the transom shower so much when cruising that I just install a mixing valve to bring hot water to the transom.

The 35 should also be a newer boat.
