I recently purchased a 1988 31'' Island Packet and would like to know where the best place to install the unit in the boat, where to place the vents and if 12,000 BTU is enough to cool it effeciently.

Also, I''m puzzled that some 31 Island Packets have the Galley to port while others have it in reverse?

I was also wondering if any IP 31 owners have had any problems with the shower drains in the head whereby water has saturated the bathroom bulkhead seperating the salon and also the teak and holly flooring.

Any information would be appreciated.
