Thanks PorFin. I did think of that, but would prefer a connector where the my own wires go into the plug. With the trailer plug, I'll need to have four connections which will end up inside the mast, unseen, and wet. I'd like to reduce the number of connections, if at a possible.
The connector I have has screws on the side, and the wires are inserted and tightened to the connector.
Of course, if I can't find an alternative, a trailer plug might be the way to go.
