To each their own. Some like generators and some don't. I don't need AC so I can get along just fine without a generator, but a small Honda wouldn't be bad for recharging batteries. We can sail all year around here but except for the middle of the Summer would have a hard time generating enough power to keep the batteries topped off with just solar panels and not enough steady wind for wind generators. So, if some have a certain amount of disdain for generators, fine. Just don't expect everyone else to share it.
