Mercators are actually excellent sailboats, have a circumnavigation in their history and of the 38 that were originally built yours is the first I have heard of that is not in working condition. I am fully confident about this boat.
I suggest you consider another hobbie with your luck, maybe skateboarding
Request still out there for anyone in the PNW area that might be able to assist with this move and I agree with you CharlieCobra, this is a fairly short run to make, so should be doable even in the more challenging Oregon coastal waters.
