Hi rick, my name is david and I have a 1981 34' Irwin citation as well. I had to replace my mast after hurricane Charley. unfortunately I do not have any pictures but I may be able to help a little. the mast slides over the mast base wich is screwed through the deck into the compression post with large lag bolts. All you have to do is insert the plate between base and boat deck, screw mast base to compression post and gravity/ standing rigging hold mast down, in place.
