How much human damage can you expect in a crash

Let's say you are sailing along at a brisk 6 knots and hit a rock.

OK the boat is going to need more or less work you will find out when you haul.

What about people. I'm thinking that there is a very high chance of concussion and broken ribs or worse as people decelerate from about 7 MPH to 0 MPH in a foot or so. Then there is the snap back.

Anyone have any personal experience with this or remember any news reports?
