Good luck on your boat, Joshua. As you know, the common advice around here is to hire a surveyor, but for $1200 you haven't exposed yourself to much risk. If you decide to pull her to work on the centerboard, you might want to do some basic motor cruises with the outboard to make sure it doesn't have issues. That way, you'll know if you have two jobs instead of one before you take her very far. Have great time playing with sails and everything else aboard, and it wouldn't be a boat if there's no surprises.
