Wow, Minne. Nice story, not so much for that PO. I went a different route to un-do a broken superstition. I'm not in the least bit superstitious. My boat had one owner for about 40 years, then a couple of one-and-done owners. The second one of those changed the name from Sandpiper II (which I don't feel one way or the other about) to something I didn't care for. So, rather than come up with something clever or narrow down the meaningful things in my life, I chose to honor the original owner who treated her with love and care for so long and did a meticulous job of it. I returned the name, without ceremony and just tell anyone who asks that I kept the original name out of superstition. So, basically, I lie about it. Is that bad?
