Did "First Aid for Offshore Personnel" a few years back. It was about on the level of EMT 1. Had to learn basic suturing, placing an IV, Getting vitals and many other stuff. Found out I will never be a doctor due to I can't pronounce the words let alone spell them. But that course has helped with broken arms, suturing wounds and caring for other medical problems that showed up far far offshore. Like in the middle of the Bering Sea.
So the lesson learned; If opportunity arises, take the course.
