If "I" compared the folks in the CYC club vs the non CYC club at my marina.......sailors are VERYVERYVERYVERY VERY CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAP! The cyc folks complain about the $65 dues, the other at 350 consider it cheap for what they/I/we have! The CYC club anchors out whenever possible, the other uses a marina. Boat size is 10' smaller with the CYC club.

Member ship size, the CYC club has 48 members, dropping total ave of 3-5 over the last 4 years, non CYC club, 18 of 141 are sail boat, 50 new in last 3-4 years with 14 of the 50 sailboats, NONE transferred from the other club!

BUT, as others have pointed out, smile at your resident or non resident marina, tip where appropriate, a port employee I doubt it is appropriate, but if the fuel dock is private run, quite possible. Same with dock hands.

She drives me boat,
I drives me dinghy!
