I would avoid any shop with that attitude. Seriously. Some do think they should do all of your work. I prefer a balance. I will pay them when they have an expertise I don't have, when they have time I dont' have or, sometimes, when I just want them to get a little work for relations. They better be willing to do work that helps me fix a problem I may have created or I'll go elsewhere for all the rest too.

I do agree with shops that post a rate sign that says their rate doubles if you watch and triples if you help. That I get, the customer can really be a problem looking over their shoulder.
