I have a Yanmar 3GM30 which is a good engine, a replacement of the original Atomic gasser, but would seriously consider the Kubota conversion as mentioned here if I had to replace it. I have had Kubota engines in a few pieces of excavation machinery that took/take more abuse than a marine diesel would take in 100 years. They make as close to an "indestructible" and dependable motor as can be imagined.
