Try San Diego bay.
There are places to anchor on the week end and you sail the bay all day long as it big enough. Somewakes but no ocean unless you want to go out of the bay. You can get reciprocals at the YCs and get guest slips at the Marriott and Coronado Kay’s resort hotel. They offer the run of the hotel for the price of the guest slip and it includes electricity, cable, pump out and discounts at the hotel including shuttles to the beach, Coronado and chairs, towels. Also get the spa for free which includes the pool, Jacuzzi and, sauna, steam bath, towels, robes etc. on and on.
We have done a bay catation on both our Catalina 30 and now our Islander Freeport for a week at a time and never run out of fun.
Kayak the kays and sail to Mission Bay for some anchoring. About a four hour trip.
You could try one of the boat clubs. Example:
San Diego and Long Beach Sailing Club
San Diego & Long Beach Sailing Club, Sailboat Rentals, Sailing Lessons
