Frigoboat v. Adler Barbour

We are trying to leave shortly for the bahamas, and are replacing our existing system, which was a combo 110 / engine system from 1992. The engine driven system is kaput, and the 110 will work on the inverter, but draws 7 amps 110, which converts to about 110 amps 12v dc. (And I wonder where the battery went!)

I have had a frigoboat system bid for about 5k including installation and removal of old system, and an alder barber cold machine for about 3k. We have to do a quick haul anyway to do some welds on our swim platform so the haul is being done anyway.

Is anyone able to help me with why the frigoboat is worth 2k more than the AB system? And I am concerned about diminished capacity as the keel cooler gets marine growth.

This is on an Island Packet 44, which has good insultation, but big enough boxes to put the whole cow in. Freezer is probably 4 cubic feet, frige is 6 cf. top loading

Thanks, need to decide this weekend.
