Well, let's just say, I'm not doing too badly. I own one of the things on your list and considered partnering on another.

I don't misunderstand the practical reasons for chartering your mega yacht,or begrudge the tax deductions.

But I know many who own their own private jets. Some charter them out when they aren't using them, others don't. The chartering never pays for the plane, but it does marginally reduce the total cost. As I think through those examples, the difference is definitely between who can afford it and who can't. Those renting out their stuff are doing it so they can afford more plane than they could without.

So I return to my original premise, it makes it look like you can't afford it. I'm not saying they shouldn't do it.
