Hello
Last year I bought 2009 Beneteau 40 (OC) which was "rigged for gennaker". Essentially has halyard, jammer and sheets. Expensive bit ... need to buy sail and some blocks.
Question: the gennaker halyard exits from top of mast and then comes down through what looks like a loop which actually seems a bit to starboard of centre of the mast. This fixing is only just above the forestay (fractional
rig) ... it's really close.
I've seen several comments on web about halyard interfering with genoa
furling gear as way too close. One owner was hoping to move fixture up but someone said the mast (fractional
rig) might not be strong enough.
Is anyone using this halyard as is? There is sort of a disc on the top of the genoa
furling gear and this had apparently cut someones halyard!! Don't know why Beneteau would do this ... but would really appreciate your input.
thanks, JohnB40
