I've found the evening breezes to be very steady all summer long, even above the bridge. They seem to be particularly good on days that go well into the 90's. Heading out around 5 or 6 pm almost always makes for a pleasant evening sail down to the bridge and back. Weeknight sails after work would be impossible if I had to drive 1-2 hours each way.
