Too many variables. The short answer (I think) is up to 4%, but look it up on Quantum’s or North’s website. The luff and foot stretching is annoying insomuch is you are constantly tightening halyard and outhaul. The insidious stretch over time and use (abuse) is in the leech which will then require recutting and sewing. If you are looking into a new Dacron sail – remember that all Dacron is not alike and you want a high modulus/high thread count for a given cloth weight. Good Dacron is getting closer to the arimids and polyesters in terms of stretch with the added benefit as it ages gracefully over time. You get what you pay for
