Having just taken 101, this would be my first recommendation. The terminology is like a foreign language. Once you learn and use it, its second nature but when you're first exposed to it, as in my case, the terms are all new and none of it makes much sense. The school I attended believes that advance study is not required but I think getting familiar with the terms in advance will help you a lot.

Second recommendation is gloves.
