I also agree that some expect way more value for a few hundred dollars than they should. When we surveyed this boat, it took two guys an entire day, including a test sail to the marina where she was hauled and excluding any sophisticated engine inspection. It cost a grand.
I got a pretty good report, but did find some very small things missing. I use it to this day to check model numbers when ordering parts.
It fully occurs to me that I could not pull every cushion, check every system, take her for a sail and document all her inventory in only two man days, and I know the boat inside and out now!!!
Some of these guys are pretty efficient.
