Re: Islander 32 Mkii

Hi All,

Just thought I'd share a scary maintenance issue I discovered before we all start launching for the new season. I noticed my rudder had dropped about 1/2 an inch when I walked by my I32 on the hard the other day. That didn't look right to me so I made space in the port-side lazerette and crawled under the fuel pipe to see what was going on. I was greeted by the following sight which sent a cold shiver down my spine. I had been out in some pretty rough weather like this before I hauled her for the winter last year. Hanging on by one thread is no way to go through life, son. I'd suggest you do a quick check yourselves to see if you are still held on by four strong nuts (size 5/16 btw). Happy 2012 sailing season!

Always approach the dock at the speed you wish to hit it.
