Our Houseboat experience in Tampa area

Hi Nikki,

I came across your thread looking at liveaboard info. We live in Edgecomb Maine and bought a 38' Burnscraft Houseboat on Ruskin (small town on Tampa Bay) It has been great. We had the boat docked at Little River Marina (also known a Bahia Beach) Nice place, allowed liveaboards, etc. and still do, but the marina, like MANY others, is slowly being converted to condos. We would come down for a week or so 3 times a year. We now have the boat out of the water at Cuts Edge Marina in Palmetto. If we can find a suitable marina that allows liveaboards, I will let you know. We may consider renting it out during the time we're not there. We are also considering selling the boat, once it is on a suitable slip. Living aboard is a great, and inexpensive way to go, providing you can find a marina you like that allows liveaboards. A marina we're looking at is Regatta Point in Palmetto...

Best,

Davis and Carla Carver
