Re: Morgan OutIsland 41 for Bluewater?
Although I am not a long distance offshore cruiser, I've been cruising my Morgan Out Islands on the US East Coast and Bahamas since 1973. They hold the same set of compromises as most vessels at a comparable price. Downwind performance will be greatly increased with twin headsails or a cruising chute. I like the exterior chainplates for care and inspection. Like any older boat it's history of care will be very important. I think the shoal draft will be more of a comfort issue than a safety issue offshore for this hull. Sure, I love my vessel; however, I recognize that it suits my wallet best among the possibilities.
