Thank you all for pitching in.

I'm working with boatus insurance, they can get me a full coverage policy that includes the trailer and the outboard for $203 a year (also liability only for $143) I thought it was pretty good, my local guy came up with liability only at $270...
Waiting on Boat us to send me the proof of insurance so I can go to the marina and get the slip.

As far as the third slip there's plenty of water under the dock, at least 15 ft at the current level of the lake (which is pretty low, don't know exactly how low). Also there are only a hand full of boats on the dock, I don't anticipate hundreds of people coming by every weekend for about 15/20 boats.
