Hiya Crazy, I am UK based also.

I would think you want to be looking at something bigger than 31ft
I am looking for something for myself and the cat and the smallest boat that I could find that I think I will be comfortable on is a 37ft.

IMHO (and I am very much a newbie to this kind of sailing) you want to be looking at 36ft at least.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?
