We have used the Lifesling a bunch on are own in practice drills with a person in a wetsuit and just finished Safety at Sea and using a halyard has proven best in our tests and was how it was taught during the on the water during Safety at Sea

We have used the swing the boom out as a lift point method and found it to have a good bit of risk in rough water as it is hard to keep stable
