teak sole, the real stuff
Teak and holly cabin soles now days all seem to be plywood sheets glued down and varnished. I know that they are an imitation of something past that I will probably never see, but I am curious by nature and was wondering if anybody knows how the old solid teak/holly flooring was assembled and fastened down. Was it some sort of tongue and groove, was the holly used as a wedge driven down and scraped off? Surely some of you wooden boat caregivers would know.
