You should also get in the habit of using the hot water faucet even when there's no hot water. It keeps the water moving thru the heater all the time. And while I'm not an expert on winterizing, from what I've read on these and other 'boards, it makes little sense to fill the tanks and pipes with antifreeze, just empty them and you don't have the problems in spring time.
