I'd second Dave's comment. You really want a solid material, web or net is going to foul the rode.
We've had a problem with this as well, a bight of chain will get caught on the lip, then all the other chain will stack up to the hawsepipe, jamming up the windlass. Then someone has to run down below, clear it, and come back on deck. Makes for a really irritating anchor evolution.
Also, depending on your cruising grounds and ambitions, you may want to consider going with an all chain rode on your other anchor. That's the setup we use, and it's been pretty good to us. 45 lb CQR with 150 ft of 3/8" chain. We use this most of the time, it's easier to veer, set, weigh, and retrieve, and gives a lot of peace of mind.
