Bending new rub rail

Last fall during the movement of a quick cold front the neighbor's Catalina broke loose and smacked into the aft port side of my 30. Fortunately all that was damaged was the hard plastic rub rail. Ironically it is the same section that was damaged and replaced during Hurricane Hugo in CHS some years ago. I purchased a new length from Rudi at D&R and just now finding time to install. Any suggestions on heating this stuff for a nice bend around the transom?

Separate subject... my jib when trimmed comes back a little past mast and must be cut such that the sheet never rides on the safety line.

Love this old boat... in three years family has spent at least 75 nights on it and countless hours sailing. Yes maintenance about the same number of hours but I sort of enjoy that.
