You are without the potential for hurricanes, but you should still watch you weather window. Be especially watchful of strong Northerns blowing in the gulf. You have about 800+ miles of fetch and the seas will preceed the front. Gets very nasty.
Cannot help on Cuba. I want to go but have not been there (American).
