I have an OI 36, with the same port design.
Those ports have always struck me as being weak for offshore use. If I were doing an ocean crossing, I might pull the windows and gaskets out, and bolt pieces of Lexan over the openings, caulked to the hull.
I suspect that would be a heck of a lot more work than it sounds like.
Thanks for the post -- I may replace my own leaking-black-stripes-down-the-topsides gaskets, now.
