Thanx for the vote of confidence, but really, it was just a bit of luck. We were very securely anchored so I suppose at worst we would have just drifted to the beach and had to wait for slack tide to return to the boat. It just never occurred to us that there would be such a strong current where we were, as this was the first time we'd encountered it.

I wouldn't have expected a lot of current in the Chesapeake but then, the article didn't say whether the lemmings' boat was anchored.
