If it's adventure you want, then by all means, go for it. If you are looking to reduce cost and/or time, then this is not the answer. Any idea how long it will take you to sail from the Chesapeake to Corpus Christie? Also, there are expenses associated with sailing this far, let alone preparatory costs for a voyage like this.

I'm not saying not to do this, but if you are looking to save time and money, I suspect your plan will end up costing more than simply putting it on a trailer to begin with.
