I quickly discovered the best method of determining if you are, or are not, dragging anchor is to use my GPS plotter, zoom it all the way in, place the cursor at my current position, then hit the exit button. After a few minutes, I just hit the exit button again, and it takes me to the last cursor position and provides a distance and bearing to the cursor on the screen. It's that easy.

I use a Lowrance HDS7 that has all the bells and whistles, including an Anchor Alarm. Problem is my high frequency hearing is shot to Hell from manning big guns in the U.S. Navy and playing live music for the past 60 years. I can't hear those high-frequency beeps from any electronic gear, including my watch alarm. In contrast, my wife can hear my watch alarm going off when it's in the drawer three rooms away.
